Did you decide to visit La Paz for the first time? Surely, you’re seeking adventure, tranquility, beauty, but above all, the beauty of its beaches.
It’s not a secret that some of Mexico’s and the world’s top beaches are found in La Baja. If you embark on a road trip through La Baja, you’ll have the opportunity to explore them all. However, these are the 3 beaches you must visit during your stay in La Paz, and you’d regret missing out on them.
Balandra Beach
Balandra is the most popular beach in La Paz and is visited by thousands of people annually. For the past 2 years, access to Balandra has been restricted because the Balandra area is considered a national park. But if you’re an early riser, you can still secure a spot.
One of the main features of this beach is the shallow depth of its waters. This allows you to walk several meters without the water even reaching your waist. Another characteristic of Balandra Beach is its white sand and the turquoise blue color of its waters.
However, the main attraction that draws thousands of tourists is the “Balandra Mushroom.” This is a natural (or perhaps not so natural) rock formation that is Instagram-worthy.

El Saltito Beach
One of La Paz’s hidden gems is El Saltito Beach. Located about 40 minutes from the city, El Saltito is a beautiful, nearly untouched beach that offers a striking contrast between the sea and the desert.
Furthermore, El Saltito is one of the few beaches in Mexico where you can witness bioluminescence. This natural wonder is excellent for reconnecting with your mind and returning with positive vibes.
Learn about the access route in this post (soon).
Punta Arena Beach
Escape from civilization at Punta Arena Beach. Here, you’ll find a vast and exceptional place far away from the city’s hustle and bustle. This beach is characterized by its vast expanse and an old lighthouse at its southern tip.
At Punta Arena, you can enjoy water activities like snorkeling and get a panoramic view of Cerralvo Island. It’s undoubtedly our favorite beach for spending summers. Want to know why? Find out more soon.
Undoubtedly, summers in La Paz become more delightful thanks to these beaches. What do you think? Tell me in the comments if you’ve already visited them, which one you like the most, and why.
